Itineraries: 21 days / 20 nights
Gilf El Kebir

DAY 1
Leave Cairo by Bus at 7A.M. and arrive in Baharia Oasis (400km from Cairo) at 1P.M. After arrival have lunch. Then visit Bir El Ghaba (the forest spring). This is swimming pool sized spring where Perfect temperature for swimming. Take a tour to Baharia Oasis; discover the city and the surrounding area. Dinner at the camp. Enjoy bedouin music at the fire. Overnight at the camp (Bedouin Hotel). Please note: The tap water in the oasis is very ferruginous and smells unusual.

DAY 2
After breakfast ahead to the amazing djara cave. Lunch will be served at the longest dune in the world abu mahraiq dune belt, reach djara cave to the pre historic rock painting and magnificent stalactites and stalagmites. dinner and overnight under the stars on tent.

DAY 3
After breakfast moving to the white desert north of farafra oasis. Visit the magic spring (ain el saroe and wadi hennis). Overnight.

DAY 4
Wake up early and moving to farafra oasis and visit it’s ancient fort and houses. Depart the ancient caravan route that linked the two oases of farafra and dakhla. Overnight in the top of the escarpment overlooking al qasr village.

DAY 5
After breakfast tackle the difficult descend from the top of the scarp to the ancient town of qasr. Check in at the hotel. At the afternoon visit al qasr, deir al haggar, al muzwaga tombs. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 6
Check out after breakfast then reload the vehicle and fueling up for grand gilf tour. Heading the sugar loaf, a major landmark in way to abu ballas. Arriving abu ballas and view the ancient water pots and pre historic engravings on the hill. Overnight.

From DAY 7 till DAY 14
We will be roaming at the leisurely pace in the Gilf plateau area visiting the following sites: wadi humra, wadi abdul malak, wadi sora and the renown cave of the swimmers, prince kamal el din’s monument, the discoverer of the massif gilf plateau and the great explorer of the Libyan desert, the eight bells and finally the pre historic site of wadi bakht where a Neolithic settlement (8000-9000 years ago) ones lived supported by a pre historic lake. On our return we will pass by the saviem monument.

DAY 15 to DAY 19
We will then head south in the direction of the great uwinate mountain.we will wonder in this area roaming within it’s valleys of kurkur talh trying to discover new Neolithic sites.Wwe will depart due east on the flat selima sand sheet to beir tarafawy and the east uwinate project.

DAY 20 & DAy 21
Return to dakhla & following the road to Cairo.
